Marathon mission for Team EFDS
The English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) team for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2015 is ready to go, training hard for the big day on the 26 April 2015. Twenty five people will take on the challenge of a lifetime and raise money for the national charity, dedicated to disabled people in sport and physical activity.
Joining the team this year is David Wilson, a 76 year old from south west England. David joins his son-in-law and seasoned marathon runner Nick Mills in this year’s event. Nick and David are both running because of Lottie – Nick’s daughter and David’s granddaughter. Lottie is a swimmer at the regional and national EFDS swimming events.
David and Nick have seen first-hand the importance of sport being accessible for disabled children and are delighted to be running side by side to raise money for EFDS.
Also running this year is John Somerville an avid supporter of the charity and experienced marathon runner, as well as Natalie Taylor who ran the marathon for the first time in 2014 and is determined to run again for the charity. The team are an eclectic mix of new and seasoned runners, all very proud to be sporting the EFDS running vest.
EFDS is really proud of all our supporters, who give up their time and energy to make a huge difference in sport and physical activity. We will be cheering the runners on the 26 April. Good luck Team EFDS!
