Preparations for CPISRA World Games continue with football site visit
The International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football have held a site visit in Nottingham ahead of this year's Cerebral Palsy Football Under-19 World Championships.
The inaugural tournament will be held as part of the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA) World Games, with the aim of giving people with Cerebral Palsy the opportunity to take part in a world-class sporting event and achieve their potential.
The football tournament is due take place from 10 - 15 August, with teams participating in a seven-a-side competition, with two over-age players allowed to be fielded at any one time.
The inspection was carried out by International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) secretary general Jan-Hein Evers and technical director Tom Langen.
Preparation for three new football fields will get underway next month and are expected to be ready by the time the next inspection takes place in June.
Teams will be accommodation at Nottingham Trent University throughout the duration of the tournament.
The Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games will take place in the heart of the historic city of Nottingham from 6 - 16 August 2015, with the majority of the competition taking place at Harvey Hadden Sports Complex.
The international competition which is attracting entries from over 23 nations so far will include: athletics (Racerunner and Slalom), bowls, under 19s football, female football, swimming, para taekwondo and table cricket.
Nottingham hosted the inaugural CPISRA World Games in 1989, which were known as the Robin Hood CP World Games. Cerebral Palsy Sport and the Nottingham 2015 Organising Committee are focused on ensuring this year's World Games are the best yet.
