Activity Alliance features at Youth Innovation Conference
Two Activity Alliance staff members were joined by a charity Ambassador to present at the Youth Innovation Conference in Manchester.

Helen Derby and Alex Giles were joined by Temi Johnson as they presented a workshop at the Youth Innovation Conference. Run by Sporting Communities CIC the event is designed to widen the conversation surrounding young people’s views, aspirations and issues.
The three presented a 40-minute workshop entitled ‘We all belong – A future where all disabled people feel they belong in sports and activities’ to a room full of engaged participants.
Discussions were had around barriers to sport and physical activity, with potential solutions raised.
Temi is one of four Activity Alliance Ambassadors, who were announced in December following the launch of our new strategy 'We All Belong'. Speaking as part of the session he said:
“I got into coaching to prove to everyone that they can do sports.
“When you’re coaching disabled people, be patient and let them have their say. Make exercises simple to understand and make sure your sessions are adaptable. Try and put yourself in their shoes.”
We all belong is Activity Alliance's strategy to drive meaningful change for disabled people in sports and activities. We want to see a future where all disabled people feel they belong in sports and activities. Find out more on our strategy page.
