Goalball UK launches ambitious “Empowering Our People” strategy
15 years since the constitution of Goalball UK the organisation has announced the launch of their new strategic plan.

Goalball UK is committed to empowering people who are blind or partially sighted to live and play an active, successful part in an inclusive society. Their new strategy outlines the vision and goals for Goalball UK throughout 2025 and beyond. It focuses on six core pillars including:
- Grow and Develop Our Players: Expand participation opportunities and talent pathways for players of all ages and abilities.
- Grow and Develop Our Workforce: Invest in training and resources to enhance the skills and expertise of coaches, officials, and volunteers.
- Provide High-Quality Experiences: Deliver exceptional experiences for players, fans, and the wider goalball community.
- Create and Develop Partnerships: Collaborate with key stakeholders to strengthen the reach and impact of goalball.
- Ensure We Continue to Improve Our Organisational Health: Maintain a strong and sustainable organization with robust governance and effective leadership.
- Continue to Raise Awareness of Our Sport and Our People: Increase the visibility and profile of goalball across the UK.
The “Empowering Our People” strategy will be implemented through a series of targeted initiatives and programs, including:
- Increased participation opportunities: Expand programs and initiatives to engage more people with goalball, regardless of age, ability, or background.
- Enhanced talent development pathways: Identify and nurture talented athletes to achieve success at the highest levels.
- Investment in workforce development: Provide comprehensive training and support for coaches, officials, and volunteers.
- Strengthened partnerships: Collaborate with schools, community organisations, and other sporting bodies to promote goalball and increase its reach.
