Cerebral Palsy Sport partner with Bowls Development Alliance

On the 7th January 2014 Cerebral Palsy Sport and Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) signed an official Memorandum of Understanding that will lead to an increase in the amount of disabled people accessing bowls nationally.

This is a landmark agreement for both organisations and Alison Talbot CEO of Cerebral Palsy Sport said:

"This unique partnership will enable CP Sport to work closely with the BDA to increase the opportunities for people of all ages with cerebral palsy to play bowls. We welcome the opportunity to work more closely and share our expertise to get more people with disabilities playing bowls."

A spokesperson for The BDA added:

"this partnership will strengthen the link between the BDA and potential Cerebral Palsy participants. CP Sport’s expertise and impairment specific knowledge will help expand the BDA, Bowls England and English Indoor Bowling Association understanding, and in turn this will offer bowls clubs support and guidance to enable clubs to become more inclusive."

In addition to this partnership the BDA will work with County Sports Partnerships’ in their hotspot areas to offer inclusive bowls sessions at alternative locations such as colleges, leisure centres and supported housing complexes.
