Magic of GOGA captured in new video
The spirit of the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) programme features in a new video that shows what it means to participants across the country.
Thousands of people across the UK have been given the opportunity to be active thanks to Get Out Get Active. Designed to support disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together, it has reached more than 55,000 people since its inception in 2016.
A new video, filmed at several GOGA locations, features participants sharing the difference it has made to their lives.
It showcases a boxercise session run by Tailored Leisure in Sunderland, a hub club and dance class in Wiltshire, delivered by Wiltshire Council, and some the best moments from an event held to celebrate those that have made such a difference to their communities.

Helen Derby, Strategic Lead of Programmes at Activity Alliance said:
“It is true to say that GOGA is life changing. It has introduced activity into the lives of many people across the UK, and the way in which it is delivered means the majority continue to take part.
“Whilst impossible to truly capture the full impact of the programme in 1 minute and 30 seconds, this snippet gives an insight as to why it is so special.”
Born in 2016, GOGA was created to bring disabled and non-disabled people together to be active. Made possible by funding from Spirit of 2012 funding it strengthens community spirit, increases confidence, and improves mental health for all involved.
The latest GOGA impact report found that as well as participants, there have been more than 4,000 volunteers engaged at sessions, with almost three in 10 volunteers having a disability.
Whilst aiming to get some of the UK’s least active people moving more, the financial benefits are also stark. For every £1 invested, GOGA delivered more than £4.60 in social, environmental, and economic value.
Sunderland, Wiltshire, Black Country, Amber Valley and Blackpool all continue to see the benefits of the national programme thanks to funding from Sport England and London Marathon Foundation.
