Become an Activity Alliance trustee
Activity Alliance is seeking two exceptional individuals to join our board of trustees.
We are a national charity for disabled people in sports and activities and need passionate and dedicated people to help us further our mission. We want to hear from you if you have a passion for inclusion, a commitment to diversity and equality, and the skills and experience to help us achieve our goals.
Our vision is fairness for disabled people in sport and activity. It is not right or fair that disabled people are the least active in our society, and working with others, we aim to change that. Sport and physical activity play an essential role in our nation's health, and we want a society where everyone can be active. Inclusion is at the heart of our planning and delivery, and we strive to ensure that disabled people feel included.
We are a values-led organisation, and these values are reflected in our team and throughout our organisation. We care deeply about our mission and are proud of our success.
Activity Alliance has a long history of making a positive difference for disabled people. Our Chief Executive, Adam Blaze, joined us in January 2023, and we are now entering an exciting phase. We are in the third year of a five-year cycle as a Sport England system partner, and we have new and exciting programmes to develop across the country. Later this year, we will launch our new strategy.
Our board is made up of experts with diverse personal and professional experiences. We share a passion for advancing the charity as the leading voice for disabled people in sports and physical activity.
We are looking for two outstanding people to fill two crucial trustee positions later this year. At least one must have lived experience of disability and will be board-appointed, while our members will elect the second trustee.
We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have an understanding, skills, and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Legal
- Governance
- Digital transformation
- Marketing communications
- Commercial and corporate affairs
- Income generation
Representation matters to us. We welcome applicants from underrepresented groups, as we value the importance of diversity and inclusion. We encourage disabled people and those with long-term health conditions to apply. Your lived experiences will immeasurably enrich our strategic discussions.
Our board meets at least five times a year, both virtually and in person (in Loughborough). We understand your time is valuable, so we strive to make these meetings convenient for everyone involved.
