Webinar: Working towards a more diverse and representative workforce
Join Activity Alliance’s latest webinar that will explore workforce representation. The hour-long online event will be a discussion around supporting more disabled people into the activity workforce and volunteering roles.
We know that disabled people are often under-represented in sports and in the workforce. Activity Alliance’s Annual Activity and Disability Survey 2022-23 showed that disabled people are half as likely to see ‘people like me’ working in sport and physical activity compared to non-disabled peers.
Activity Alliance will be joined by a range of experts to discuss these findings on Tuesday 23 January from 11-12. Sign up now to this free event to guarantee your place.
Our latest survey also found that for disabled people who are already taking part in organised activities, a quarter would be interested in a role. 31% of young disabled people would be interested in taking on a role.
This online event will focus on how sport and physical activity organisations can create more inclusive workforce and volunteer opportunities for disabled people. Joining us for the discussions will be:
- AKD Solutions, who support organisations to be more inclusive and diversify their workforce
- UK Coaching, sharing insights about the changes they have made to be more inclusive internally and how this has affected their guidance
- A coach and volunteer for Disability Sports Coach, sharing his journey to becoming a coach as a disabled person
- An inclusion advocate discussing their experience as a disabled person in the professional workforce, representing at board level and how we can improve inclusion and accessibility at all levels
To hear what will be fascinating insights join us from 11am on 23 January, simply sign up through eventbrite to book your place.
This is the latest in a series of webinars based on findings from the latest Annual Disability and Activity Survey. You can catch-up on a previous event, ‘how is the cost of living impacting disabled people's activity?’, on Activity Alliance’s YouTube channel.
