The National Disability Sports Organisations (NDSOs) are a good starting point for many deaf and disabled people who want to be more active. They provide advice, support, and opportunities for people of all ages with specific impairments to take part in sport and activity.

Downing Street celebrates Team Special Olympics GB’s achievements at Berlin 2023
Members of Team Special Olympics Great Britain were invited by the Prime Minister to a celebratory Garden Party at 10 Downing Street in recognition of the fantastic achievement of athletes and the support of its devoted volunteers at the Berlin 2023 Special Olympics World Games.
WheelPower – 19 July 2023
Smiles on the Snow at first Learn to Ski with WheelPower event
On Wednesday 19 July nine disabled people took part in a brand new Learn to Ski event at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. The free event was a great success and for many of the participants this was the very first time they had been on snow, yet alone tried a sit ski.
Dwarf Sports Association UK – 18 July 2023
Live stream available for 8th World Dwarf Games in Germany
The 8th World Dwarf Games will be held from 28 July to 5 August 2023 in Cologne, Germany. For friends, family and supporters staying in the UK, the World Dwarf Games Committee have announced that selected events will be live streamed.
British Blind Sport – 17 July 2023
Activation zone at the IBSA World Games
British Blind Sport is delighted to announce they will be hosting an activation zone at the IBSA World Games in Birmingham from 25 August, offering participants free sports sessions in partnership with National Governing Bodies of sport.

Report finds deaf teenage girls feel sidelined in sport
Deaf teenage girls are at increased risk of dropping out of sport, facing additional barriers to hearing girls of the same age. A report by UK Deaf Sport, in partnership with charity Women in Sport, looked at the difficulties that some teenage girls face to taking part in sport.
