Players prepare for School Boccia League Finals 2014
On Thursday 10 July, the top school teams from the around England will compete in Sheffield to gain the title of 2014 School Boccia League champions.
Boccia England’s School Boccia League is a national pan-disability, team competition, open to all pupils listed on the SEN register. The aim of the programme is to widen the opportunity for competitive boccia for those who do not meet the BC1-4 classification for the Championships series.
Since the start of the season in October, 100 teams have been playing self organised fixtures within their respective league groups, before qualifying to the annual national final taking place next week.
Boccia England’s Competition Officer Rachael Crack commented:
“Boccia continues to grow in popularity amongst so many sectors of the community and we hope this league will continue to offer a valuable competitive outlet. We also take this opportunity to thank Boost Charitable Trust for their continued interest and financial support in helping us to take this venture forward.”
