Run for Activity Alliance in the TCS London Marathon 2023
The TCS London Marathon is returning to April in 2023, and with the ballot now officially closed don't be disappointed if you missed out on a place. Take up one of our guaranteed charity places and help Activity Alliance achieving fairness for disabled people in sport and activity.
The TCS London Marathon is a world-famous event. Starting in Greenwich Park, you will run the iconic 26.2 mile course accompained by 40,000 other runners. Along the route, you will run past many of London's iconic landmarks including the Cutty Sark, over Tower Bridge, and through the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf. The streets will be lined by hundreds of thousands of spectators as you run by Big Ben and towards the Mall for a hero's welcome in front of Buckingham Palace.
If you would like to take in this amazing challenge for our charity, we require you to sign-up by paying a £75 registration fee.
This confirms your acceptance of the place and your commitment to raise the minimum fundraising target of £1,750 for Activity Alliance.
Why fundraising for Activity Alliance?
Disabled people are the least active in our population – twice as likely to be inactive as non-disabled people. Before the pandemic, we were seeing glimmers of hope as disabled people’s activity levels were improving. However, findings in our most recent Annual Disability and Activity Survey shows that less than 3 in 10 disabled people feel encouraged to return to physical activity after the pandemic. As the leading voice for disabled people in sport and activity, we are seriously concerned about the potential long-term damage this level of inactivity will have on disabled people's lives.
Our vision is fairness for disabled people in sport and activity.
We cannot do this alone. With your support we will achieve this vision and create a fairer society for everyone. A place where everyone can be active however and wherever they want to be. Find out more about our work here.
All Activity Alliance runners will benefit from:
- Regular newsletters and charity updates
- Activity Alliance training plans and a fundraising ideas pack
- Tailored email support from running experts
- An official Activity Alliance vest or t-shirt to wear on marathon day
- A participant goody day
- Information about online fundraising
- A friendly closed online forum to chat with other runners
