Paralympic Champion urges local people to get active
Hart Leisure Centre is joining forces with Paralympic Champion Sascha Kindred CBE to welcome people through the doors for its free Active for All afternoon on Saturday 3 November.
Everyone Active and Hart District Council are working closely to showcase the range of inclusive activities available within the centre.
There will be seven different sessions happening throughout the Active for All afternoon with the action kicking off at 1pm with football taster sessions run in conjunction with the Hampshire FA. From 1:30pm there will be a dedicated gymnastics session for children with autism which will be run in smaller groups and in a quieter environment.
At 2pm ParaDance UK are running two taster sessions for adults, giving participants a chance to see how active they can while learning the basics of Samba/Salsa and Street Dance.
World record holder, Kindred, will be in the pool from 2pm where he will be showcasing his world class skills before helping build the confidence of the children taking part in the swimming session.
The 13-time Paralympic medallist said:
“I’m really excited to be taking part in the Active for All afternoon and encouraging everyone to take part in new activities. I’ll be cheering people on in most of the sessions through the day.
“For a leisure centre like Hart to open its doors for free to encourage people from across the community to come and get fitter is fantastic to see. I can’t wait to get in the pool and teach the children some new skills.”
Activities will be running throughout the centre until 4pm. To view the full list of activities taking place throughout the afternoon please visit https://www.everyoneactive.com/news/active-for-all-afternoon/
