LimbPower launches #ActiveAugust campaign
Throughout August, LimbPower and Axis, powered by Ottobock, are working together to encourage and engage with people with a limb difference, to help them kick start a more healthy and active lifestyle. The #ActiveAugust campaign aims to aid rehabilitation and improve quality of life.
You can join in by sharing and promoting the Ottobock Fitness App (available through the apple store and on android mobile phones) and LimbPower’s exercise videos (available on YouTube and the LimbPower website www.limbpower.com)
The charity aims to support and encourage more members build their independence through increased mobility. Join the conversation using #ActiveAugust and raise awareness of the physical health benefits and mental health benefits of engaging in physical activity. There is a focus on moving more at home, in the office and at school. What's more the first 50 people to sign-up will get an Active August t-shirt!
Amputees and individuals with limb difference can join LimbPower and Axis, powered by Ottobock, for #ActiveAugust and challenge themselves to get fitter through the #OttobockFitnessChallenge. The organisers will be running a daily morning workout using the OttoBock fitness app, choosing between strength and endurance, condition and balance, or stretch and relax. Participants can do as little or as much as they want to, in the comfort of their own home.
There is also an associated social media and fundraising campaign called #WhatsYourActivity for individuals who are already active and want to challenge themselves to do more or achieve a new goal. The organisers are encouraging participants to share their story with other amputees and individuals with limb difference and to create a justgiving page to raise funds for LimbPower, to continue support through participation events, workshops and resources. The first 50 participants to sign up will get an Active August t-shirt.
It's fun for the family! Why not join in as a family- a bike ride, swimathon or perhaps park run.
