Vicky Jenkins targets gold at Rio 2016 after late call-up
Archer Vicky Jenkins will make her Paralympic debut at Rio 2016 after she was added to the team-sheet for ParalympicsGB.
The British Paralympic Association (BPA) has received confirmation that an application to the International Federation for Archery for a bipartite place for Jenkins has been successful.
As a result Jenkins will become the 11th athlete selected for the sport of archery and will compete in the W1 compound competition, and she said:
“I’m looking forward to experiencing my first Paralympic Games in Rio and competing at the highest level of my sport.”
Today’s announcement takes the number of selected athletes to 183 from 16 sports.
