British Gymnastics disability programme reaches 1,500 members
British Gymnastics’ disability gymnastics programme has reached a milestone of 1,500 members.
The growth in popularity and participation in disability gymnastics is largely down to the successful ‘I’M IN’ disability gymnastics programme, which aims to develop more high quality opportunities for disabled people in gymnastics.
There are now more than 200 clubs affiliated to British Gymnastics offering gymnastics to people with physical or learning disabilities, sensory impairments or health conditions.
British Gymnastics Disability Manager, Patrick Bonner, said:
“Reaching 1,500 disabled members is a fantastic achievement, but we want to keep on building on this and continue to connect even more disabled people to our sport.
“We are on a mission to show disabled people that gymnastics is inclusive. We hope to encourage even more disabled people to get involved and enjoy the many physical and social benefits.”
