LimbPower launches new sport and physical activity survey
LimbPower, the national charity for amputees and people with limb impairments has launched a new sport and physical activity survey. The results will be used to help encourage more people with limb impairments to take part in sport and physical activity at all levels.
LimbPower is the National Disability Sports Organisation that supports amputees and people with limb impairments to reach their sporting potential and are supported by Sport England. They aim to put each person in touch with the right sport or leisure activity for their needs and ability.
The new survey aims to understand the views and experiences of people with limb impairments towards sport and physical activity – including why people do or do not participate in sport currently, along with which activities they currently take part in and would like to do in the future. The research also aims to gain an understanding of the impact wearing a prosthesis (false limb) has on an individual’s likelihood to take part in sport and physical activity.
LimbPower is keen to consult with as many people who have a limb impairment as possible. This is your chance to tell LimbPower about your experiences of sport and physical activity.
Kiera Roche, Chief Executive of LimbPower, said:
“I would like to encourage all people living with limb loss or limb difference across the UK to complete the online survey. The information you provide is really important to enabling us to help shape and improve the provision or sport and physical activity at all levels. At LimbPower, we believe regular participation in sport and physical activity can help to improve a person's quality of life, and aid physical, social and psychological rehabilitation.”
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete.
All amputees and people with limb impairments living in the United Kingdom will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 amazon voucher upon completion of the survey.
Please note: we will no longer be providing a £5 e-voucher for further online responses.
