Date confirmed for CP Sport disability sport development conference
Cerebral Palsy Sport confirms that their upcoming disability sport development conference will take place on Tuesday 8 December 2015 at Nottingham Conference Centre.
Cerebral Palsy Sport is the country's leading sports organisation supporting people who have cerebral palsy to reach their sporting potential. They provide support, advice and a range of sport and physical activities opportunities for children and adults.
This December, Cerebral Palsy Sport is holding a new national conference focused on the development of sport and physical activity opportunities for people with cerebral palsy. The Conference is looking to attract sport development professionals that support people with cerebral palsy and other physical impairments - including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, support workers, P.E. teachers, National Governing Bodies of sport, County Sport Partnerships and 3rd sector organisations.
The conference will deliver a series of workshops throughout the day, centred around four themes:
Therapy in Sport
Speakers and discussion on how sport and physical activity can have positive benefits to the therapy some people with cerebral palsy receive.
Effective Partnerships = Success
Explores the impact that working in partnership, managing resources effectively and sharing knowledge and insight can lead to greater provision of sport opportunities for disabled people.
New opportunities
An opportunity to hear and engage with National Governing Bodies of sport and other sport organisations about the range of existing and new physical activity opportunities available for people with cerebral palsy and other physical impairments.
An introduction to adapted sports
A development opportunity for delegates to find out more about the adapted sports programmes Cerebral Palsy Sport offer - including RaceRunning, table cricket, frame football, bowls and swimming. All those who attend these workshops will receive a certificate of attendance.
A provisional conference programme is available here.
