England win first T20 match in INAS International Cricket Series
England won their first T20 match in the INAS International Cricket Series, beating Australia by 64 runs, with Daniel Bowser for England scooping the 'Man of the Match' award.
Australia and England's top cricketers with an intellectual disability took to the pitch for the first of a six match INAS International Cricket Series in Melbourne. INAS, the governing body who oversees the International Cricket Series is the recognised International Federation (IOSD) for athletes with an intellectual disability.
England won the coin toss and elected to battle first and went on to score a total of 160 runs, for their rivals to take on. Australia started well, however England's bowlers soon responded and Australia were bowled out for 96 runs. Victory to England in the opening T20 match of the INAS series, winning by 64 runs.
The INAS International Cricket Series is taking place from 14 -24 March, with England and Australia competing in a further four 40-over games and one T20 match. The tournament forms part of Cricket Australia’s first All Abilities Championships which also includes a Blind Cricket National Championships and a deaf cricket exhibition match. This is the first time cricketers with visual, hearing and intellectual impairments have been brought together to compete simultaneously.
