British Blind Sport name Ben Quilter as charity Youth Patron
British Blind Sport (BBS) are delighted to announce Ben Quilter, Double World Judo Champion, as the charity's newest Patron. Ben's excellence in sport and positive attitude make him a natural role model for young people and an excellent ambassador for BBS.
“As a BBS patron, I am looking forward to the opportunity to extend my support and positivity to all visually impaired children that the charity helps. BBS does such great work to help children and adults gain positive sporting experiences. Joining them in their 40th year is a proud acheivement for me."

Ben was diagnosed with a sight condition called Stargardt’s disease at the age of 10, but has been resilient in his education and career, which has ultimately led to his overwhelming success as a Paralympic athlete and role model for up and coming athletes.
His success as an elite judo athlete is clear to see. Ben has won eight World and European medals, held the title of European Champion and Double Visually Impaired World Judo Champion, and won a bronze medal on home soil at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
