Sainsbury's Inclusive PE Training case studies
Since January 2013, over 11,000 teachers across the UK have attended free Active Kids for All Inclusive PE Training courses, benefitting an estimated 285,000 young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Below are a selection of case studies which highlight the impact the training has had on participants and the young people they teach.
Anne Saunders (Primary School Teacher Scotland)
This case study demonstrates how providing fully inclusive PE opportunities can support a disabled young person to also engage in physical activity in the community.
This case study demonstrates how a PE Co-Ordinator can significantly improve the experience of PE lessons for pupils of all abilities, subsequent to attending a workshop.
Newly Qualified Teachers (England)
This case study highlights the importance of the training to support Newly Qualified Teachers to include everyone and how it supported an experienced teacher to think more creatively.
Elaine Brady (PE Teacher Northern Ireland)
This case study explains how the training helped Elaine to fully include a pupil who previously sat out of PE lessons and how she has used her learning to benefit all pupils.
